Picon Zero Intelligent Robotic Controller for Raspberry Pi Zero

Picon Zero Intelligent Robotic Controller for Raspberry Pi Zero

The Picon Zero is an intelligent robotics controller designed for your Raspberry Pi Zero. It supports all models of Raspberry Pi with a 40-pin connector (Zero, Model A+/B+ and Pi 2 or 3 Model B). The built-in processor handles all the direct communication with your input and output devices, leaving you to worry about the overall control with your Raspberry Pi program. Programming the board is fully supported with an extensive Python library. The Picon Zero is supplied fully assembled with no soldering or gluing required, and has many features that make it ideal for using as part of a Raspberry Pi-based mobile robot, including: I2C interface, leaving GPIO pins free for other things 2x Full H-Bridge motor drivers with full forward/reverse and speed control. Up to 1.5A continuous per channel (2A peak) 6x General purpose output channels (5V) that can be set as: Digital, PWM, Servo, WS2812 (aka neopixels) 4x General purpose inputs (5V) that can be Digital, Analog, DS18B20 (digital temperature sensor) All inputs and outputs use 3-pin GVS connectors (Ground, Volts, Signal) - allowing 3-pin sensors, servos, etc. to plug straight in Dedicated socket for HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor (see 75-0146). Plug it straight in, or use jumper wires to mount it further away 5x GPIO signals, 5V, 3V and Ground brought out to a header Power for outputs can be from Raspberry Pi's 5V or from an external USB input line Power for motors can be from internal/external 5V, or from a separate power source (3V to 11V) Both motor terminals have 2-pin screw connectors AND 2-pin male headers to allow maximum flexibility in connecting See the Blog entry here for more information, software and examples.

  • Supplied fully assembled
  • Perfect with Pi
  • Python library module for super-easy use

Note: Raspberry Pi not included. Note: Batteries not included.

PIM183 Raspberry Pi Pan & Tilt HAT

PIM183 Raspberry Pi Pan & Tilt HAT

The Pan and Tilt HAT kit for the Raspberry Pi provides you with a mount that has horizontal and vertical motion sensors, giving you the means to mount a camera, sensor, etc. The fully assembled kit consists of the HAT and the pan & tilt module. The HAT has two servo channels, one PWM or NeoPixel RGB (or RGBW) LED channel, and a right-angled header pre-soldered to the underside of the HAT to connect the servo and LED channels. The pan & tilt module has two servos that give 180° of motion through both the horizontal and vertical axes. When all is assembled and ready to go, why not try using the set-up for face tracking, or mount on a robot as a set of eyes. There is a handy little acrylic camera mount that will hold your camera snugly in the head of the pan & tilt module, and the mount has a couple of holes at the top that can hold a NeoPixel stick as well as a neat little frosted diffuser that produces a most agreeable light. We've put together a super-simple Python library to make it super-easy to control Pan-Tilt HAT. Just tell Pan-Tilt HAT to which angle you'd like it to pan or tilt (from -90 to +90 degrees) and away it goes! There's even a couple of examples showing you how to pan and tilt, and control connected NeoPixels. Note: The Raspberry Pi, Pi camera, NeoPixel strip, male header, female to female jumper wires, and Pibow are not included. You'll need to pick them up separately!

  • Compatible with Raspberry Pi 3, 2, B+, A+, Zero, and Zero W
  • Comes fully assembled
  • Pi camera movement with a minimum of fuss
  • Slot to route servo, LED, and camera cables through
  • Acrylic mount to hold Pi camera and NeoPixel strip (with diffuser) in place
  • Pan-Tilt HAT pinout

PIM269 OnOff SHIM for Safe Shut Down for Raspberry Pi

PIM269 OnOff SHIM for Safe Shut Down for Raspberry Pi

The OnOff SHIM is the perfect way to shut down your Raspberry Pi. It adds a tiny yet very convenient power switch on a 0.8mm thick board that is designed to soldered straight onto the GPIO pins of your Pi, at your discretion, so that you can use the shim with HATs and pHATs on top.

To use it, install the software (see below), just plug your micro-USB power supply into the micro-B connector on the OnOff SHIM - then you can press the button once to switch on power and boot the Pi, press the button again to initiate a clean shutdown and completely cut the power to your Raspberry Pi.

  • Super-small SHIM-format board
  • 0.8mm Thick PCB
  • Can be used with HATs and pHATs
  • Corner-mounted push button for on/off
  • Micro-B connector for power supply
  • Red status LED
  • Optional breakout pins to connect an external momentary button
  • 2 x 6 Female header included
  • Supports up to 2.5A power supply
  • Software daemon to shutdown cleanly
  • Requires soldering

There is a one line installer that installs the clean shutdown daemon. To install the software, open a terminal and type curl https://get.pimoroni.com/onoffshim | bash to run the one-line-installer.
