1411 Servo / PWM Shield 16 Channel 12-bit I2C Interface for Arduino

 1411 Servo / PWM Shield 16 Channel 12-bit I2C Interface for Arduino

The Adafruit 16-channel PWM/Servo shield is Adafruit's gift to servo or LED lovers. Using a miserly 2 x I2C pins on the Arduino or Orangepip the PWM shield gives you 12-bit resolution on PWM signals up to 1.6kHz. Not only is the PWM shield undemanding in terms of GPIO, once the PWM rate for a channel has been set there's no overhead on the Arduino, it can get on with other things. If one board isn't enough for your ambitions, the I2C address selection means you can have up to 62 of these boards for a total of 992 channels! Adafruit supplies a software library you can download and a tutorial to get you started.

Supplied as a fully assembled board plus 4 sets of 3 x 4 male straight headers, a 2-pin terminal block, and a row of 0.1in. header pins for you to solder on as needed. The Arduino, servos or LEDs are available separately. Available either as a breakout board or as an Arduino shield.

  • Drive 16 x servos or 16 x LEDs with 12-bit PWM up to 1.6kHz
  • 5V compliant, compatible with 3.3V Arduino
  • Drive outputs up to 6V, ie LEDs with 3.4V Vf
  • I2C driver with built-in clock reduces microcontroller overhead
  • Terminal block for power with reverse polarity protection
  • Adafruit part no. 1411

1430 NeoPixel Shield for Arduino 40 Addressable RGB LEDs

1430 NeoPixel Shield for Arduino 40 Addressable RGB LEDs

The Adafruit 40 NeoPixel Shield lets your Arduino address every single one of the 40 LEDs and set its 24-bit RGB value. The result is a very 53 x 69mm (2.1 x 2.7in.) neat rectangle of bling. These seemingly simple gadgets have triggered an amazing array of creative projects, from watches and compasses to steampunk goggles and more. The shield only uses 1 x digital ouput pin on the Arduino and more NeoPixel shields can be daisy-chained together and still use just that one pin. A 2-pin terminal block is supplied so that you can power the LEDs with an external supply if you intend adding more boards or driving the first one at full white. Adafruit have published a driver library to save you the trouble and let you get on with designing eye catching displays.

Adafruit have a reputation for the quality of their supporting documentation. You will find their Uberguide to NeoPixels and their Best Practices guide invaluable. In particular the Best Practices guide will help you prolong the life of your NeoPixels and help you avoid common mistakes.

  • Drive 40 NeoPixels with 1 x digital output
  • 24-bits of RGB for each
  • Can be daisy-chained
  • 2-pin terminal block for external supply

1752 20W Stereo Amplifier Class D 4-8 Ohm Impedance MAX9744

 1752 20W Stereo Amplifier Class D 4-8 Ohm Impedance MAX9744

A 20W stereo Class D amplifier fully assembled and mounted on a breakout board. The amp can drive 2 channels into 4 to 8Ω impedance speakers at 20W each. 5 to 12V DC power to the amplifier is via an onboard DC power jack and there is a 3.5mm stereo jack for stereo line level. The Class D configuration means that the amplifier is completely cool-running, requiring no heat sinks or thermal management and also the amplifier works at around 93% efficiency, making it perfect for portable or battery powered applications. The amplifier can be controlled by both analog and digital volume controls, using the supplied 1K pot for analog and by connecting to a microcontroller via I²C to get 64-steps of digital volume control. The breakout board features polarity-protection, jacks and terminal blocks, I²C level shifting, and a spot to solder in a volume pot and the kit comes with 3 x 2-pin and 1 x-3 pin terminal blocks, 470µF power filter capacitor and 1K trim pot. Learning tips and tutorials can be seen at https://learn.adafruit.com.

  • Fully assembled
  • Power from 4.5 to 14V DC
  • 20mA quiescent current
  • Up to 29.5dB max gain
  • Use DC or AC coupled line-level input, up to 3Vpp
  • Filterless spread-spectrum modulation
  • Low 0.04% THD+N
  • Integrated click-and-pop suppression
  • Short-circuit and thermal-overload protection

802 1.8" TFT Display Shield for Arduino Micro SD and Joystick

802 1.8" TFT Display Shield for Arduino Micro SD and Joystick

The Adafruit 1.8in. Colour TFT shield displays full 18-bit colour with a resolution of 128 x 160. The neat display is complimented by a 5-way joystick for user input and a micro-SD card socket for FAT16/FAT32 format cards. You can use some or all of the board's features depending on your project, the screen uses 4 x GPIOs for SPI, the joystick uses 1 x analogue input, and the SD-card uses 2 x GPIOs. For best performance use a microcontroller board with a hardware SPI such as the Arduino Uno or Orangepip, though this screen will work with software SPI on an Arduino Mega for example. Thanks to its on-board ultra-low dropout 3.3V regulator and 3 to 5V level shifter it's safe to use with full-fat (5V) Arduinos. Get started by downloading Adafruit's Open Source graphics library and dive into their tutorial.

The shield is supplied with everything soldered on except the 0.1in. headers which are included for you to add if your project needs them. Arduino and micro-SD card not supplied.

  • 1.8in. TFT LCD
  • 18-bit colour (262,144 shades)
  • Uses ST7735R controller which has pixel-addressable video memory
  • Use with 3.3 and 5V Arduinos
  • Dimensions 69 x 53.5 x 6.9mm (2.7 x 2.1 x 0.3in.)
  • Adafruit part no. 802
