Adjustable Regulated PSU

There are 2 different methods of obtaining the voltage you require. 1 Use the LM317 variable voltage regulator ic. Data available from national.com or rapidonline.com. 2 Use a voltage boosted 7805 regulator by adding a PNP transistor to the regulators ground/com terminal. The emitter is connected to the regulators ground/com terminal. The collector goes to 0v/ground. The base terminal is fed from a resistor (potential) divider network between the regulators output and ground/0v which could be a potentiometer say 4k7 ohms.
