10 Amp+ Regulator

In your parts list (and in the Maplins catalogue), the regulators only seem to go up to 2 Amps.

I need a 24V supply at 10 Amps.

Is there such a thing as a 10 Amp regulator?

10 Amp+ Regulator

There used to be the 78HG series of 3 terminal regulators available. These have been withdrawn possibly because they contain a toxic compound which aided cooling of the regulator. However there is a low dropout voltage 7.5 Amp regulator (LT1083) from Rapid Electronics www.rapidonline.com or Farnell www.farnell.com which may be operated with an extra pass transistor or 2 in parallel.
