Substitute for TIP32C transistor

As per the article and Maplin's website, they don't stock the TIP32C. Is the TIP36C (still a PNP) an acceptable substitute for the Darlington Pair MkII?

Substitute for TIP32C

I would think that this transistor would be satisfactory, with a minor circuit modification, adding a 6.8k-10k resistor between the +vcc supply rail and the collector(driver) - base (main pass)transistor connection to enhance the transistor switching action.
