Full-wave rectifier - 1n4004 instead of 1n4001?

in the rectifier page (http://www.eleinmec.com/article.asp?18) can 1n4004 diodes be used in place of the 1n4001 ones?

Diodes

Yes, 1N4004 have the same current rating (max. 1A). The difference is that they can withstand a greater reverse voltage than 1N4001.

cheers

cheers! that's good to hear, it's much easier for me to obtain 1n4004 than 1n4001.
