Windshield Wiper Speed Controller

Please suggest a simple circuit to control the speed of car windshield wiper. Circuits using IC555 and / or transister 3055 are prefered.

Are you just using the wiper motor in free running mode without the parking switch? If you are I would follow the PWM article suggesting that a darlington pair transistors are used on the PWM's output. If not I would refer to 555 projects by E.A. Parr or buy a kit from Velleman.
