Transistors

Ive been looking for a transistor with a collector current of 60ma and a hfe of 60. I found some datasheets but they only mention one current rating like the one found here: http://members.tripod.com/Malzev/comp/transist.htm

Can anyone reccomend a transistor or tell me how to read those sheets?

Transistors

There's a simpler list here, plus some explanation of the terms used: www.kpsec.freeuk.com/components/tran.htm#choosing

First you need to find out if you need an NPN or PNP transistor, they have different symbols (also on the above page). You can choose a transistor with a larger maximum collector current than you need and (in almost all circuits) a larger gain than you need. For example a general purpose low power transistor with max. 100mA and gain of 100 would be OK.
