AC,DC please help me close the gate.ALL PUZZLED?

HAVE COMPUTER COMPONENTS INSTALLED AND WOULD LIKE TO RUN THEM OFF I9NVERTER OR 115 HOME POWER YOU CAN NOOT GET TO THESE TO PLUG AND UNPLUG THAY ARE INCLOSED IN CABNET I CAN USE A dp dt switch ,but i wont it auto reg dc or ac pluuging in one or the other never both at one time. all comp. are pluged into 1 surge protector only room for 1,i wont to splice of the main ac power cord and y off to inverter. i wont to close the gate if you will so when ac power hits the y it does not back up and fry inverter i wont only down flow power from inverter to surge protector rembering it will only be pluged in eather ac or dc never both at one time
