Controling a Motor

For a project I'm working on I need to run a 12v motor for no longer than 5 sec once every 24 hours.I have a 240 volt transformer and I am intending to power this from a domestic timer and this can be programmed down to 1 minute.
If you are able to help please keep it simple because my electronic no-how is zero.
