Relay

Can someone explain to me in what application can a relay be found in except in PCB?

Relays

Do you mean relay connection arrangements? They are available with small pins for direct mounting on PCBs, tags for soldering wires directly to the PCB, spade terminals for push-on connectors (eg in vehicles), and older styles with a plug type arrangement for fitting in special sockets.

If you mean uses of relays, there are many: a low voltage battery circuit switching high voltage AC mains electricity is a good general example. A relay is also used in vehicles to switch the huge current required for the starter motor, the ignition key switches a much smaller current to supply this relay's coil.

There's more about relays on my website at: www.kpsec.freeuk.com/components/relay.htm and this includes their advantages and disadvantages.
