Commonly available motors

How about some form of comparison table for "standard" Meccano motors,and other freely available alternatives? Factors might include:-

AC vs DC (and voltage)
Size and convenience of fixture points
Shaft diameter
Indicative cost
Nominal RPM

etc

I ask because there are a variety of motors available from Maplin and RS components which may or may not be suitable alternatives....
