2128 A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Breakout Board

2128 A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Breakout Board

This stepper motor carrier is a breakout board designed for use with the A4988 DMOS microstepping bipolar stepper motor driver. The increased performance from the 4-layer PCB improves thermal performance, allowing the driver to deliver 20% more current than previous carriers. The breakout board gives five different step resolutions: full-step, half-step, quarter-step, eighth-step, and sixteenth-step, and there is adjustable current limiting, over-current and over-temperature protection. The board operates from 8 to 35V and can deliver up to 2A per coil with adequate thermal management. The driver carrier ships with all surface-mount components - including the A4988 driver IC - installed, and is packaged with 0.1in male header pins included but not soldered in.

  • Simple step and direction control interface
  • Adjustable current control
  • Intelligent chopping control
  • Under voltage lockout
  • Crossover current protection
  • Short-to-ground and shorted-load protection
  • Exposed solderable ground pad on bottom of PCB
This breakout board is just one of the many Pololu accessories carried by Rapid. For further resources please see here.
