Current limiting

I would like to know how i can step down my current from the power supply from 420mA to 100mA.The current is from a 5V regulator and I don't want to change the output voltage

Current limiting

Have you considered using a variable resister for controlling the current?

Variable PSU Using L200C Regulator.

This regulator has inbuilt current limiting of max 2.5A using a wirewound power resistor 3Watts between pins 2 & 5 on this IC. Data can be found on ESR Electronic Components website at esr.co.uk. The only disadvantage is that calculations are involved in finding the required voltage and current limit.

L200C Regulator

Data for this voltage/current regulator ic can be found at www.rapidonline.com.
